Heart attack? Stroke? Biking accident? Campfire burn? Our Emergency Department is open 24/7/365. The Grace Cottage Emergency Department is prepared to evaluate and care for any emergency.
Primary Care
Whether you live here year round or part-time, the Grace Cottage Family Health Clinic offers comprehensive primary care services. Our primary care teams of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff will take care of all your routine health needs such as annual physicals, vaccines, and common health issues such as diabetes and nutrition. Grace Cottage also offers onsite specialized care for mental health, pediatrics, women’s health, LGBTQ+ Focused Care and “Age-Friendly Care” for senior adults. Grace Cottage Family Health provides care for your whole family.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Program
Grace Cottage is known for its personalized, warm outpatient rehabilitation programs. Offering both adult and children’s services, our therapists offer customized physical therapy and occupational therapy for patients. The individualized treatment offered by Grace Cottage’s skilled and caring therapists has helped many patients recover independence and improve their quality of life.
Inpatient Care
Grace Cottage includes a 19-bed inpatient hospital for when you need hospital care for illnesses such as pneumonia. Or maybe you are recovering from a major surgery or illness, but not quite ready to return home? Grace Cottage offers an inpatient rehabilitation program for patients who require additional rehabilitation following discharge from a hospital. Grace Cottage also provides inpatient end-of-life care, with a private suite available for patients facing a terminal illness. Our inpatient pharmacists work together with your physicians and nurses to provide you the best care while you are in the hospital. The Grace Cottage Social Services Department can help you and your family address any issues that may arise during your hospitalization, especially discharge planning so you can go home safely. A cottage hospital in the best tradition, our small size makes possible the warm, individualized, and professional service upon which Grace Cottage has built its well-deserved reputation.
Medical Tests
Do you need blood work? Grace Cottage’s Laboratory is open six days per week, no appointment necessary. Grace Cottage also includes a Diagnostic Imaging Department, offering bone density testing, CT scanning, ultrasound and x-ray in the comfort and familiarity of your local community hospital.
Pharmacy
Grace Cottage also offers outpatient pharmacy services. Open to the public, Messenger Valley Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in Townshend. Located at the corner of Route 35 and Peaked Mountain Road, this local community pharmacy is open Monday to Saturday.
Support
Grace Cottage wants you to have the resources you need to stay healthy, and we offer a variety of services to help you maintain good health. To help you reach your personal health goals, patients of Grace Cottage Family Health have access to the Grace Cottage Community Health Team. The Community Health Team works with you to help you become a healthier you! Grace Cottage also offers a wide variety of Wellness Programs to enhance your physical and mental health. If you are having financial challenges, the Grace Cottage Resource Advocate can help you figure out available community resources. Finally, the Grace Cottage Social Services Department can help you and your family address any issues that may arise during your hospitalization, especially with discharge planning so you can go home safely.
