| PEPOON
BEQUEST
Margaret
Pepoon, who lived in Wilmington, VT for many years, had always been
greatful that, over twenty years ago at Grace Cottage, both her
sister, Nancy "Anne" Pepoon and her brother, Robert "Beau"
Pepoon had died "quiet, dignified" deaths. When Miss Pepoon
died last year in Interlaken, NY, at age 107, Miss Pepoon left a
bequest for Grace Cottage in her will. Bequests help ensure that
Grace Cottage will be able to continue offering personal, professional
healthcare to another generation. For more information, call Andrea
or Mary at (802) 365-9109 or e-mail info@gcfound.org.
WOOD'S TEA
COMPANY CONCERT
The
Woods Tea Company will be performing for the public, free of charge,
on the Townshend Common on Saturday, August 17th at 7 p.m. The concert,
hosted for the past two years by an anonymous donor, has always
been in celebration of Grace Cottage Hospital. This year, with the
permission of his wife, Shirley, the concert will also be held in
celebration of the life of this "Mr. Anonymous": John
"Jack" Benson, formerly of Greer, SC and Jamaica, VT.
Although he had been in the hospital in South Carolina for several
months before he died on May 12, 2002, Jack had been insistent that
Shirley send the check for this year's concert.
The Wood's Tea
Company musical group combines folk music, wit, and a wide variety
of instruments to create an evening that's guaranteed fun for the
whole family - just ask anyone who has tapped their feet at any
of the prior concerts on the Common or listen to a few songs on
their website, www.woodstea.net.
Then join us in August!
"HIDDEN"
TREASURE
"After
a thorough tour, Grace Cottage takes on a new perspective for us.
It's not just that quaint little hospital we drive by when going
to and from our home in Grafton, but rather a key provider of medical
and health services to residents of the region."
David & Arlene Parmelee, West Hartford, CT
This letter
reflects what many people tell us after a tour of the Otis Health
Care Center. We also hear, far too often for our liking, that Grace
Cottage is a "hidden" treasure. We don't mind the "treasure"
part, in fact, we agree. But we have no desire to be "hidden"
- it's just a quirk of topography that our hospital and nursing
home building, now four years old, isn't very visible from the road.
Don't wait until you need to see a physician or use our ER - come
while your health is good so that you know what services we have
here! We guarantee you'll be very pleasantly surprised. So please,
come join us anytime for a tour. Call Mary or Andrea at 365-9109.
