on Route 30 in Townshend

THRIFT SHOP: A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!
To all who are helping to make the new location of the shop a huge success, including volunteers, patrons, and those who have donated wonderful items. The number of donations and of customers has increased, and the inventory changes almost daily. Thanks to the generosity of Caren MacDonald, a volunteer at the shop, we now have a telephone, so you can call the Thrift Shop at 365-7234. For those of you who haven't been in yet, you'll find that it's completely different than the former shop. The merchandise is "top shelf" and the prices are still the greatest. Stop by any Mon., Wed., Fri. or Sat. between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. You'll be glad you did.

TOENAIL CLINIC: This free service will now be held on the second Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Wing (the old Stratton House building). No appointment is necessary, but if you are not on our call list (if you've never attended before), it is best to call in advance in case the date has been changed. This service is provided by Mary Western, an RN trained in food care who volunteers her time for this. For more information, call 365-7140 ext. 118.

SENIOR VAN: There's still room on the twice-monthly shopping trips to Springfield and Brattleboro. If you would like to join the group and have a fun day out with your peers, it's very easy to sign up. Call Liza at 874-4258 or Helen at 875-6148 to make your reservation to Springfield on the first and third Thursdays of the month, or call Elaine at 365-7140 x 118 or Tom at 365-4406 to reserve a seat to Brattleboro on the first and third Fridays of every month.

SCHOLARSHIP: Through the continued generosity of the Robert & Muriel Crowell family, the $1000 Eugene Godt Memorial Scholarship will again be offered to a resident of one of the Valley towns (Townshend, Jamaica, Newfane, Brookline, Wardsboro or Stratton). The scholarship is for someone pursuing a career in the healthcare field; applications are due by June 30th. For more information, contact Elaine at 365-7140 ext. 118.
