WISHES FULFILLED!
~ ~ ~
Grace Cottage Foundation
received a new fax machine from Rev. Jim Kowalski and Dr. Anne Brewer.
It's been wonderful - we wonder how we ever functioned without it! Chittenden
Bank also donated a used fax, as did Tina Feindel; both of these machines
are being used by various departments at Grace Cottage. Thank you.
WISHES
MADE ~ ~ ~
A Pharmacist is
desperately needed at the Messenger Valley Pharmacy. There is currently
a severe shortage of pharmacists in the U.S., and pharmacies nationwide
are competing for these professionals. If you know of a pharmacist who
is contemplating a move to a rural area, and who would enjoy working
at Grace Cottage's Pharmacy along with pharmacists Jim Heal and Greg
Dean, pass along this information - we're trying to get the word out
in as many ways as possible.
Rehab, Psychiatry,
and Podiatry are all in the same location and would jointly benefit
from new carpeting and cushions for a Windsor chair and two additional
waiting room chairs. The Rehab Dept. is also in need of games and building
toys (Legos, Lincoln Logs), for children ages 5-14.
The Valley Health
Council Thrift Shop needs plastic hangers, particularly the small size,
for children's clothing.
In order to comply
with side-rail regulations, the hospital needs three new Hillrom beds,
at $2,800 each.
Dr. Shafer and
Dr. Backus both sponsor medical students to work with them from time
to time. Do you have an extra room in your Southern Vermont home where
an intern can sleep and study? The average stay is one month and the
interns have their own transportation.
The lab needs a
lab-grade refrigerator and freezer. For further information or to arrange
for donation of any of the above Wish List items, call (802) 365-9109.
A
MUCH-APPRECIATED GIFT
Thanks to the generosity of two families and their family foundation,
a new stove was recently purchased and installed for the Grace
Cottage kitchen. "The entire dietary staff is ecstatic about the
new stove," said Bill Smith, Dietary Department Manager. "It's
an incredibly efficient replacement for our old stove which, I
believe, had been in continuous service since 1949!" |
