MICHAEL & EILEEN SWEENEY JOIN FOUNDATION BOARD


South Newfane residents Michael & Eileen Sweeney were unanimously approved by directors to join the Foundation Board at the October, 2000 meeting.

Born in Buffalo and raised in Watertown, CT, Eileen was a competitive ice dancer during her youth. Her early profes- sional career was in the healthcare, hospitality, and computer industries; she holds an MBA from Simmons Graduate School of Management in Boston. Eileen is currently senior vice president of human resources with Global Telesystems Group, Inc.

Michael, who grew up in the New York City area, has a B. S. in Chemistry from Manhattan College. He began his career as a product development chemist for Lever Brothers, where he developed Close Up toothpaste. Preferring business to science, he moved into the field of information technology; he's currently a sales agent for two software/ services companies, one based in Bulgaria, the other in Massachusetts.

Eileen and Mike have recently moved from Alexandria, Virginia to what was formerly their second home, in South Newfane. After having lived in eleven U. S. and three inter- national cities (Cairo, Brussels and London) during the past 25 years, they're content to finally call Vermont their home, where they will welcome visits from their seven (soon to be eight) grandchildren.
