A grateful patient writes... When my husband, a born Vermonter, and I, a native of Louisiana, first began to spend our summers on his grandparents' old farm place, I had carried fear, wondering what I would do if I became ill so far from home. I think it is one many seniors carry when they are away from family doctors for an extended time. I give my heartfelt unlimited praise and deep appreciation to my doctor, now dear friend, Dr. Teresa Fitzharris, her associate, Danielle, her faithful, caring nurses, Gail and Ruth. Then there are those who serve in the emergency room. Each gave me the most gentle and blessed care any one human could ever receive from another. The word 'Grace' is a most beautiful appella- tion for this family. One phrase from a lovely sacred anthem kept recurring over and over in my mind while being taken care of by these special people, and is more than befitting for this special place: 'There is a balm in Gilead that makes the wounded whole. ' Thank you, all the loving hands that brought and continue to bring that 'balm' to me and many others. May God bless you each day as you make a difference in this old world." Irvie Lee emple Monroe, Louisiana Another grateful patient writes: "Never has a patient been more favored... Now I know that Grace Cottage Hospital is not only the most charming, but the best in the country." John Kenneth Galbraith Sept. 19, 2000
