Employees of the Month Shirley Robinson, Linda Leavitt, Patrick Lapan, Danielle Basta.

Employees of the Month for the most recent four months have been selected by their co- workers, patients, residents, and department managers at Otis Health Care.

The following comments appeared on their nomination forms:

Patrick Lapan, Purchasing Manager (November):
"Patrick has done a fantastic job of organizing [the Purchasing Dept.]. He is popular with vendors and staff due to his positive, polite attitude and helpful manner." Patrick has been employed at Grace Cottage for three years.

Shirley Robinson, Nursing (December):
"Tough old bird! Very nurturing, efficient, treats her patients as she would be treated. High ethics of care." Shirley started working at Grace Cottage in 1970.

Linda Leavitt, LPN, Pharmacy (January):
"Has worn many hats at Grace Cottage, including lab, nursing, pharmacy, and anywhere else she is needed. Always professional, always pleasant." Linda's been at Grace Cottage for almost 36 years.

Danielle Basta, Family Nurse Practitioner (February):
"Consistent excellent quality of care, and true dedication to her work, always patient and thorough with her clients." Danielle started at Grace Cottage in 1995.

Employees of the month receive 24 hours of earned time, ten free meals at the hospital, a photo in Cottage Door, their names on a plaque, and a cash gift.

BONNIE DOWLEY : EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

The Employee of the Year for 2000 has been awarded posthumously to LNA Bonnie Jean Dowley. At a recent Otis Health Care Center Trustees' meeting, Bonnie's husband, Kenneth ("Buster") accepted the award and a check for the trust fund which has been established for Bonnie's sons.

Amember of the nursing staff at Grace Cottage's Adult Day Care Program, Bonnie died suddenly on September 1, 2000 at age 38, of an aneurism.
