WOODSPLITTER RAFFLE A SUCCESS
Thanks
to many people, the recent Grace Cottage Foundation woodsplitter raffle
was a great success, raising over $2,000. Bob Backus donated the TimberWolf
splitter in memory of Clara Wolcott Bates, RN, Mildred Wolcott, LPN, and
Eunice Wolcott Bates. Ron Greenwood, of Ron's Husqvarna in Townshend, sold
the woodsplitter to "Dr. B" at cost, and Bill Light of Townshend and Bill
Berry of Wardsboro volunteered their time to sell and to Paul Bedortha of
River Bend Market in Townshend for allowing volunteers to "set up shop"
in front of his store. And thank you to everyone who purchased tickets.
The winner, John Jones of Brattleboro, was absolutely ecstatic. "We'd never
won a thing in our lives until this!" exclaimed John's wife, Sandy.
