Fall / Winter 2000
Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Ends on a High Note
The Grace Cottage Hospital has tangible evidence by which to measure its annual performance: the amount of money contributed to ease the financial burden of the Otis Health Care Center. The exact amount of this year's contribution will be announced at the annual Auxiliary meeting this month, when a check will be presented to the hospital C.E.O. Net proceeds from Fair Day 2000, coupled with "dues" from the annual membership appeal should equal, or better, any past contributions. A Millionaire's Weekend: David and Barbara Kearney of Newfane were the winners of the Auxiliary membership raffle. They'll spend a luxurious three days in New York City. Fair Day Success is a tribute to volunteers. First year chairman Stan Holt was thrilled with the result of the 50th annual Auxiliary-sponsored Hospital Fair Day. Compliments from fairgoers were abundant, complaints non-existent, and a "best fair ever" comment was common. Stan and his Fair Day Committee thank all the willing, enthusiastic volunteers who made the day nearly as perfect as the weather. At after-the-Fair critique meetings held by the planning committee and, later, the booth chairpeople, the word came out: "We plan to make it even better next year."
Wish List Priority: A nearby barn is needed to store items gathered year-round for the big Fair Day Auction. For more information, call (802) 365-7773. |
