Rock Solid Foundations for the Future

Established in 1994, Grace Cottage Foundation is responsible for fund raising and fund management for the sole benefit of Grace Cottage Hospital & the Otis Health Care Center. Prudent management, cost containment, and private gifts have enabled Grace Cottage to survive while hundreds of small rural hospitals nationwide have been forced to close due to financial shortfalls.

The joys of philanthropy are as varied as the types of donations that can be made. You can invest in the healthy of Grace Cottage now or in the future. Credit card donations may be made by calling Andrea or Mary at (802) 365-9109. You may like to specify a timetable, such as monthly or quarterly, for Grace Cottage to charge your credit card. If you prefer to transfer appreciated stocks or bonds, we will be happy to supply you or your broker with the necessary transfer information. Corporate Matching Gift Programs are available to employees, directors and retirees of corporations offering these programs. Some corporations will also financially match volunteer hours. Forms are available from participating corporations and mailed to Grace Cottage with the accompanying donation from the employee, director or retiree. Gifts to Grace Cottage such as personal property, real estate, IRAs, life insurance policies, and various other capital assets are welcomed once you have had a detailed discussion with your financial advisors. A charitable gift annuity is a simple way to ensure a lifetime income for you, while supporting the healthcare that Grace Cottage provides in southern Vermont. In return for your gift of cash or securities, you receive a fixed annual income for life based on age and the amount given. Trusts of many types can benefit Grace Cottage with income and/or principal, during your lifetime or afterwards. Legal assistance is recommended to ensure that your intent is expressed in legal terms. Bequests, made in a Last Will & Testament, can benefit Grace Cottage once you have provided for the people you love. The wording is very important, so we recommend that an attorney be consulted, to be sure that your intent is clearly defined in legal terms.
