Don't Flush!

What should you do with expired or unusedmedications? Is it safe to flush these down the toilet? The answer, for almost all medications, is a resounding, "No!"

Years ago, we were advisedto flush medications or to wash them down the sink in order to keep them away from children or pets. But researchers have discovered thatsome ofthese substances are not removed by wastewater treatment plants and may be causing fish abnormalitiesand other aquatic issues.

Grace Cottage's Messenger Valley Pharmacy will be hosting a medication collection day this fall. All medications, including herbal remedies, will be accepted.
