A Word From The CEO

Mick Brant As we mark Grace Cottage Hospital's 60th Anniversary, world and national headlines are full of bad news. Wars, the economy, the spread of swine flu -- you know the rest. There's a lot to worry about, and seemingly little to celebrate.

But here at Grace Cottage, there's so much to be thankful for and to celebrate, even as we carefully watch budgets, trim costs (there has never been "fat" in the budget here), and increase efficiency.

Almost every day we receive written or verbal testimonials from grateful patients and/or family members. Lives saved, deaths made easier thanks to our hospice care, patients who have had the best possible outcome in rehab after joint replacements, patients who travel an hour or more each way to see practitioners here.

One patient recently described Grace Cottage as "a diamond in the rough...without the rough!"

It's the staff and the supportive community that make all the difference...and based on my experiences elsewhere, I can truly tell you that it's different here at Grace Cottage.

As we look to our past, appreciate our present, and plan for the future, we thank you for whatever role you have played in making Grace Cottage the place that is known for providing patient care second to none.
