If you haven’t yet driven north of Grace Cottage Hospital on Route 35 in Townshend, then you’re in for a big surprise. Seemingly overnight, two large structures have gone up on 9.85 acres donated by Warren Kronemeyer, on either side of the Federal-style brick home that Warren gave along with the land.

Thanks to the work of environmental consultants Wm Jewell & Company, architects Williams & Frehsee, engineers/planners Stevens & Associates, and DEW Construction, in addition to many other local contractors, the 50,000 sq. ft. project is moving along rapidly.

It is anticipated that construction will be completed in December, 2007. All of the one- and two-bedroom units will be available for rental, with a certain portion of the units restricted to seniors with incomes at 50% or 60% below area median income.
