VALLEY CARE UPDATE

Valley Cares has received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status (finally - application was made in December, 2004, and approval was received in April, 2006!) and a Vermont Act 250 environmental hearing has been held in front of the Agency of Natural Resources District 2 Environmental Commission. A decision regarding the land use permit is pending review of additonal information. Issuance of the permit is expected this summer.

The Valley Cares project is a 24-unit independent living and 28-unit assisted living complex to be constructed on 9.8 acres donated by Warren Kronemeyer, just north of Grace Cottage on Route 35 in Townshend. To date, over $8 million has been raised for the project in federal, state and private funding.
