What a delight to see so many folks attend our annual Super Supper!
The NewBrook Fire Department building was packed to capacity with
smiling faces, hearty appetites and much laughter. This mid-winter
event grows every year, with returnees and newcomers alike. We’d
like to thank all of the musicians of The Bills Band and guest fiddler,
Ned Phoenix, for an evening of jokes and foot-tapping music. There
was an abundance of great food, and many prizes. A special thanks
to my fellow officers for making this a successful event.
The Auxiliary will have a booth at the Wardsboro
Fourth of July Parade and Street Fair, where our 2006
Hospital Fair Day T-shirts, hats, and raffle tickets will
be sold.
A special thanks to all for an outstanding response to
our recent Auxiliary Membership drive. Your loyal
support and generosity are very much appreciated.

On Saturday, August 5th the 56th annual Grace Cottage
Fair Day will take place on the Common in Townshend.
The Fair Committee is steeped in planning for this
year’s event. The Common will be filled with the booths
and events that have pleased fairgoers in the past.
We’re working to provide carriage rides for Fairgoers
this year. Thanks to Bob Labrie of Townshend, a pair
of handsome black Friesian horses drawing a fancy
carriage will take people for 20-minute rides up Route
35.
Also, this year the Art Show will be expanded. We
are asking artists to donate art work to the auction.
The donated art work will be displayed in the Church
on the Common and presented at the auction at 1
p.m. The artists may set a reserve on donated work,
and exceptional donations may be taken to auction in
Boston.
New volunteers can always be incorporated in Fair Day activities.
