THRIFT SHOP - Thanks to everyone who has
contributed clothing and household items to the
Valley Health Council Thrift Shop, inventory is
good. With the exception of items that are marked
otherwise, every item in the store is $1. Whether
you’re browsing for designer labels at bargain
prices, doing some early holiday shopping, or
looking for something specific to fill a gap in your
wardrobe or household, the Valley Health Council
Thrift Shop is the first place to look.
The Thrift Shop is open Mon., Wed., Fri. 10-4,
and Saturday 10-1 (note new Saturday hours); it’s
located on Route 30, less than one mile north of
the Townshend village (next to Mary Meyer). Call
(802) 365-7234 for more information.
A gentle reminder: since there are no laundry
facilities at the Thrift Shop, donated items of
clothing should be clean, and free of stains or rips.
Unsaleable clothing must be discarded, and the
costs associated with disposal cut into the Thrift
Shop’s small profit.
BUS TRIPS - Want to have fun, meet some wonderful
people, and get your shopping done at the same
time? The Grace Cottage bus makes the trip
from the West River Valley to Brattleboro twice a
month, and to Springfield, VT twice a month. Call
Bette Parsons at 896-6010 for more information
about specific dates and pick-up locations.
