| DICK RAYMO RETIRES FROM BOARD
After 27 years on the Otis Health Care Center Board of Trustees,
Dick Raymo has retired from this volunteer position, although he
still continues his "day job", as owner of WW Building Supply in
Newfane and Wilmington.
"I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to serve on this Board," Raymo reflected. "I view Grace Cottage as being somewhat analogous to the Yankees. The legend here, like Babe Ruth, is Doctor Otis, and the strength that was put into these organizations by these great men lives on, and brings out the best in people. The incredible intellect and diversity of the people that are currently on the Otis Health Care Center and Grace Cottage Foundation Boards, and the excellent chemistry between these people made it a pleasure to serve all these years. The challenges for a small rural hospital were the same when I started as they are now, but so many people have given so much of themselves to keep this gem of a hospital growing. I can’t say enough about Al LaRochelle, Effie Chamberlin, and the rest of the staff. This is the finest example I could ever imagine, of practitioners, patients, administration, Boards, Auxiliary, and people in the community pulling together to continue the legend."
At a ceremony congratulating him for his many years of service, co-trustees presented Raymo with a baseball autographed by Yankees coach Don Zimmer . (Can you guess which major league team Raymo follows?)
