HOMEMAKERS - We are extremely fortunate to have Betty Benson, Christel Holden and Donna Young providing homemaker services for Valley Health Council. These ladies not only go above and beyond for their clients, but they also volunteer many hours to the fundraising which helps to finance the many services of the Valley Health Council, including collecting Newfane Flea Market parking donations, baking cinnamon buns and making homemade soup to sell on the common at the Townshend Craft Fairs in the spring and fall, and soliciting prizes and selling tickets for our annual raffle.

Betty Benson, Donna Young and Christel Holden help people to live in their own homes as long as possible.

SENIOR VAN - "Many people consider this to be one of our most indispensable programs, as we provide transportation in an area where there is little or none available, and we will continue to provide this service to enable folks to go shopping," said Elaine Scott, Director of the Valley Health Council. To go to Springfield, VT on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, call Liza at 874-4258 to make a reservation. To go to Brattleboro on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, call Tom at 365-4406.

THRIFT SHOP - The volunteers have been rearranging merchandise, and the shop really looks great. Stop in to look at the collection of clothing and small household items that are truly the best value around. Store hours are Mon., Wed., Fri., & Sat., 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Call 365-7234 for more information about the Thrift Shop.

TOE NAIL CLINIC - This free toe nail trimming service, provided by Mary Western, RN, is held on the second Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Grace Cottage. No appointment is necessary, but if you have never attended before, please call in advance. 365-7140 x. 118.
