| FOUNDATION NEWS KATHLEEN SHEDD WRIGHT TRUST
A generous gift was received by Grace Cottage from the estate of
Kathleen "Katie" Shedd Wright after her death. The following letter
was received from Katie’s daughter, Mimi:
"As the wife of a very dedicated doctor, Katie regretted the loss
of connection between doctor and patient, which seems to be more
and more the norm today. In Grace Cottage and Dr. Moss Linder, she
was able to feel that relationship at the end of her life. Her gift
to Grace Cottage represents sacrifice on her part, and a respect
for the quality and importance of what you do for our community.
It is her 'thank you', spend it wisely."
A VERY SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY GIFT
Ruth
Lamprey’s daughters, Sharon Tierra (l.) and Faith Lamprey (r.), surprised
their mother on Mother’s Day with a plaque on the Bone Densitometer
Room, in honor of Ruth and Jerry Lamprey. Jerry died in 1999; Ruth
is a volunteer in the Grace Cottage Purchasing Department. Ruth and
Jerry became known to many in the community when they ran "My Brother’s
Place" restaurant in Harmonyville, now the site of Dr. Timothy Shafer’s
practice.
JOSEPH HELLER ROOM DEDICATED
On May 13, the Joseph Heller Room at the Inez & Sidney Bock EMS Training
Center was dedicated. Scott Heller, president of Communication Industries
Corporation in Grafton, who made a generous donation of audio-visual
and training equipment, shared memories of his father at the event.
A power point presentation about the EMS Training Center was produced
and donated by Howell Martin Advertising and Marketing in Brattleboro.
