A Former Employee of the Year Writes:

Sue Tweedy “Although I had to leave my job at Grace Cottage over two years ago when my husband and I moved out of state, I recently came back to visit all of my former co-workers at the hospital. I always believed that Grace Cottage is very special, but it’s certainly even more evident when it’s no longer in one’s life.”

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR DOUG WINOT

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR DOUG WINOT
At the January meeting of the OHCC Board, President Roger Allbee,
CEO Shana Jones and other Board and staff members
presented Doug with a golden plunger and additional gifts.

Doug Winot, an employee of the Maintenance Department since 1997, was awarded Grace Cottage’s eighth Employee of the Year Award.

Born at Grace Cottage, Doug grew up in Brookline and graduated from Leland & Gray Union High School in 1988. His uncle, Howard Osgood, owned a dairy farm (now West River Stables), where Doug spent almost ten years milking cows and doing farm chores, until he joined Grace Cottage.

“What I like about my job at Grace Cottage is that every day is different,” said Doug. “When I come to work in the morning I never know what will happen, and that makes it very interesting.”

Doug and his wife, Jo Ann, live in Townshend with their children Tabitha, Tucker, Thatcher and Tanner. Doug enjoys hunting and snowmobiling in his free time.

Exemplary Employees Recognized

The following Employees of the Month were recently recognized for outstanding activities, accomplishments, and leadership beyond standard job requirements:

Diane Smith, Physician Billing: Diane is an inspiration because she is a very caring person. She genuinely cares about Grace Cottage and refers to it as “my hospital”. She is always extremely courteous to patients, both in person and on the phone. Diane Smith
Mike Ingersoll, Nursing: Mike has a great attitude, which is infectious. He’s professional and helps by working all shifts on short notice. He’s attentive and excellent to work with; he’s very selfmotivated. Mike Ingersoll
