| SEQUENCING ART CLASSES

Students Jason Stover & Bram VanderTuin
Thanks to a
partnership with
River Gallery
School in
Brattleboro, VT,
thirteen Grace
Cottage employees
have
recently taken
Sequencing Art
Classes. The
oil painting
technique was developed by artist and River Gallery
School founder Ric Campman after his first stem cell
transplant to help treat multiple myeloma (he died in
2006) and is designed to reduce stress and to assist
with grieving. The only tools required are fingers,
paint, disposable gloves, sticks, and paper.
The finished work of several Grace Cottage employees
is mounted in the hospital hallways, and co-workers
are amazed at their similarity to artists such as Monet
or van Gogh (seriously!). More workshops will be
held in the future as funds are raised for this specific
purpose; for more information, call (802) 365-9109.
