| ARLO MONROE
On January 9, Grace Cottage "family member" Arlo Monroe
died at age 88. Arlo was well known in the area as longtime headmaster
of Leland & Gray Seminary; he was also a talented and popular watercolor
artist. During the last years of his life, Arlo was a resident of
Stratton House and Grace Cottage, and he continued to paint throughout
this time, in an enclosed porch at Grace Cottage, which he converted
to a studio.
At the time of his death, Arlo had been organizing
an exhibit of his work with his agent, Chris Holden,
and it was his wish that this continue as planned.
Remembering Arlo, will be at the Townshend Town
Hall on Saturday, June 19 from noon until 4 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
