| Employee of the Year - Susan
Tweedy
 |
| Tweedy
accepts award from Chairman of the Board Bucky Pelsue. |
Born in New Bedford, MA, Sue graduated with a degree in Nutrition
from Framingham State. She worked for several years at Martha's
Vineyard Hospital as a dietetic technician. In 1980, Sue married
Doug Tweedy and, in 1993, the couple moved to Newfane with their
three children.
Sue is an avid reader; this winter, she took
up snowshoeing in order to work off the calories from her great
cooking talents. Who knows where she finds the time to do all
this because, in addition to her full-time job at Grace Cottage,
she waitresses several nights a week at Rick's Tavern in Newfane.
My favorite part of working in the Admitting Office at Grace
Cottage is that I get to meet, greet and get to know so many
people!" said Sue, who is often fondly called "Tweedy
Bird" by her co-workers. |
MCDEVITT MOONLIGHTING
Family
nurse practitioner Louise McDevitt, who practices side-by-side with
Dr. Tim Shafer, has a second career which gives her many Frequent
Flyer miles. For the past five years, she's been traveling the U.S.
(and beyond) teaching courses for Fitzgerald Health, based in North
Andover, Massachusetts. Louise instructs other nurse practitioners
on Board Certification Review, Opthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat,
and Sports Medicine, among other subjects. Her once-a-month assignments
for Fitzgerald Health have taken her to twenty-five states and on
a Caribbean cruise; in June, she'll take her husband and two daughters
along on an Alaskan voyage (she'll work, they'll play!).
"Louise brings her real-world experience as a Nurse Practitioner
to the classroom," observed Fitzgerald Health President Margaret
Fitzgerald. "Louise is a superb teacher and role model because she
is clearly a superb clinician."
