| AUXILIARY HAPPENINGS
The work of the 2004 Hospital Auxiliary is well underway. The donation
of $39,000 to Grace Cottage is helping to construct the new laboratory
(see related story, front page), and the laundry staff will be the
beneficiaries of a new washing machine. Thanks to everyone who helped
with Fair Day and on the membership drive - your hard work made this
possible. At Super Supper, held in February, we express our appreciation
to all the volunteers that help us throughout the year.
Planning for the 54th Grace Cottage Hospital Fair Day, on August
7, 2004, has already started. (For example Denise Choleva, who runs
the fried dough booth, is desperately seeking an additional Fryolator
- any thoughts?) We welcome suggestions for the Fair theme and entertainment
throughout the day. Please consider helping, even if you only have
an hour or two to spare that day. Our dedicated booth chairpersons
always need volunteers, as does the art show, bingo, auction and
common set-up crew. If you can help, before, during, or after the
Fair, contact me at 365-4455.

In partnership with Fleming Oil Company, Grace Cottage installed
a new heating oil tank this fall. Now, we no longer have to worry
about striking oil in front of the original hospital building! This
had been a big concern since the former tank had been installed
in 1960. Fortunately, there had been no leakage.

"Thank you for making Grace Cottage Hospital the
best, warm, caring and comfortable hospital I have
ever been to. When I was a patient at Grace Cottage, I was treated
with such respect and caring. Everyone was warm and smiling
all the time, no matter what time of day or night."
