Messenger Valley Pharmacy, Grace Cottage's retail pharmacy, has been
growing by leaps and bounds; during the past year, the volume of prescriptions
filled has increased over 20%. With four full-time pharmacists on
staff, they've been able to continue to meet this high demand, while
still managing to remember the names of all - or at least most of
- their frequent customers!
The pharmacy staff has also been initiating several new programs.
The Refill Reminder Program offers great convenience - the pharmacy
staff will call you when your prescription is due to be filled,
and you may choose to pick it up at the pharmacy (open 8-6 M-F,
9-2 Sat.), or have it mailed directly to you.
Custom Compounding of prescriptions is another service now offered at the
Messenger Valley Pharmacy. Many people take advantage of this service
if:
1) they are allergic to a preservative or dye normally found in
their prescription;
2) they cannot tolerate a medication that is taken by mouth, so
the product may be reformatted for application on the skin or into
a suppository; or
3) they need the flexibility not possible with limitations of commercially-available
products. Compounding can even be done for pet prescriptions!
