BOARD APPOINTS BROWN & CHAMBERLIN INTERIM ADMINISTRATORS

The Otis Health Care Center Board of Trustees has appointed Stephen Brown and Effie Chamberlin Interim Co-Administrators. The two took over this shared position on September 1, at the end of former CEO Albert LaRochelle’s last day at Grace Cottage. Witt Kieffer, a firm specializing in health care searches, has been hired to recruit a new CEO.

Stephen Brown has been an employee of the Otis Health Care Center since 1984 (he left for one year, in 1987) and returned in 1988. His positions have included Billing and Comptroller; in 2000, he became Chief Financial Officer.

Effie Chamberlin has been at Grace Cottage for 45 years (she “retired” in 2000 and LaRochelle persuaded her to return thirty months later!). Various positions she has held include Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Administrator of Stratton House & Heins Home. Her most recent position, which she continues to hold, is Director of Compliance/QI/Risk Management.

Albert LaRochelle is now the Administrator of Rosebud Health & Rehab Center in Forsyth, Montana. In addition to other tributes and gifts made at the fare-well luncheon held by em-ployees and board members, Dr. Judy Tietz presented Al with a cowboy hat and hob-by horse, noting: “You may need these in Montana!”
