GRACE COTTAGE HOSPITAL,
MESSENGER VALLEY PHARMACY
& PHYSICIANS’ PRACTICES
GROWING RAPIDLY
“We’re serving more people than ever before,
while working hard to maintain the
high quality of personal and professional
care that Grace Cottage is known for,”
said Albert LaRochelle, Administrator.
Number of visits to the family practice
doctors and family nurse practitioners
have increased a whopping 60% since
2001 (13,049 in Fiscal Year 2001 to 20,815
in FY 2005). Emergency Room visits have
increased 41% during the same five years
period, while the number of laboratory
tests has grown 40%.
Meanwhile, it’s been just as busy across
the street at the Messenger Valley Pharmacy.
In FY01, the pharmacy filled
35,500 prescriptions and this past year,
51,751 scripts were filled, representing a
46% increase over five years.
“We’ve added two new family practice
doctors since 2001, and a third new physician,
Alexandra Barstow, will be starting
in February,”
said LaRochelle,
“so that we can
continue to meet
the increasing
demand in our
physicians’ practices,
in addition
to the Emergency
Room.”
