Short Takes
- On September 3, Grace Cottage received an Act
250 Land Use Development Permit from the state of
Vermont to construct a 57-space parking lot along the
west side of Route 35, just north of the original
Stratton House building (now the Bock EMS
Training Center wing). Construction on the gravel lot
is slated to begin early next summer.
Grace Cottage gained permission from 14
state agencies (including the Agency of Stump
Dumping, and the Agency of Natural Resources,
which investigated the site for rare types of
bullrushes) prior to a successful hearing before the
District Environmental Commission.
- Now that the laboratory has moved to a new,
larger location down the hall, the space across from
the Emergency Room is being converted to ER
overflow and a transfusion room for the increased
comfort of outpatients. Renovations are being
completed by Jim, Doug and Martin in Maintenance.
- The winter hours of the Messenger Valley
Pharmacy will be 9-5:30 Monday through Friday and
9-2 on Saturday.
