Grace Cottage Hospital conducts a community health needs assessment, as required by Vermont
statute, every three years. The results of the 2010 survey showed that the community felt that Grace
Cottage was on the right track towards providing improved access to diagnostic imaging services (X-
ray, CT scan, ultrasound and bone density testing) and was doing well in providing improved access to
wellness programs (osteoporosis prevention and exercise classes being the most needed) by the rapidly
aging population/patients in rural, southern Vermont. Grace Cottage Hospital used this information in
implementing its strategic plan during FY2011.
Grace Cottage also was once again the lead organizer of the Community Health Fair, which was well
received by the community – organizations that promote health and healthy living as well as members of
the public.
